The latest edition of Pit Pass Indy previews the Indianapolis 500 Open Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, scheduled for April 20-21, 2022. Nearly every car/driver combination that is entered in this year’s 106th Indianapolis 500 is expected to compete in two full days of testing on the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval.
Pit Pass Indy Host Bruce Martin brings our listeners up to speed with in-depth interviews from some of the biggest names in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. Those include seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, who suffered a broken right hand from a crash in practice at Long Beach on April 8. Johnson had surgery to his broken right hand on April 11 in Charlotte, North Carolina at OrthoCarolina. Johnson plans on competing in the two-day test and tells Martin why that test is so important in his first attempt at the Indianapolis 500 on May 29, 2022.
Martin also interviews defending NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Alex Palou, 2016 INDYCAR champion and 2019 Indianapolis 500 winner Simon Pagenaud, Chip Ganassi Racing driver Marcus Ericsson, INDYCAR rookie driver Kyle Kirkwood of AJ Foyt Racing and Graham Rahal of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing on this episode of Pit Pass Indy.
